現在、全国の学校で空前の「探究学習」ブームが起きています。しかし、私は現場で生徒たちを見つめながら、ある確信を抱いています。それは、「現在行われているような形の探究学習は、そう遠くない未来に必ず『終わり』を迎える」ということです。
悲観論ではありません。テクノロジーの進化によって、私たちが「探究」と呼んでいたものの価値が根底から覆り、全く新しい「次世代の学び」へと強制的にアップデートされるからです。
1. 「情報処理」としての探究が死ぬ日
今の探究学習が終わりを迎える最大の根拠は、「生成AIの圧倒的な進化」です。
現在の探究の多くは、「社会課題を調べ、分析し、解決策をスライドにまとめる」というプロセスを踏んでいます。しかし、高度なWebアプリのコードすら一瞬で生成できる現代において、この「情報を集めて処理し、最適解を出力する」という作業は、すでにAIが数秒で完璧にこなしてしまいます。「情報処理能力」を競う探究学習は、その役割を終えようとしています。
2. 次世代の学び①：「摩擦」と「身体性」への回帰
デジタル空間の正解はAIがすぐに出してくれます。だからこそ、次世代の学びは「圧倒的な身体性への回帰」へと向かいます。
「現実の摩擦」こそが人間の価値：
現場に足を運び、泥臭く人々と対話し、実際にモノを作り、想定外の失敗という痛みを伴う経験。AIにはできないこの「摩擦（エラー）」を安全に経験するための実験場へと、学校は変わっていくでしょう。
3. 次世代の学び②：「HOW（解決策）」から「WHY（意味づけ）」へ
学習の重心は「どう解決するか（Problem Solving）」から、「なぜそれを解決したいのか（Sense-making / 意味づけ）」へ完全にシフトします。個人の熱狂や倫理観といった「個人のWHY」はAIには決して生成できません。次世代の探究は、「自分が人生を懸けて熱中できる個人的な問い」を掘り起こす自己内省へと進化していくはずです。
最後に：真の学びの「始まり」
探究学習の「終わり」は、AIが面倒なリサーチを肩代わりしてくれるからこそ、人間本来の「泥臭さ」や「情熱」に100%フォーカスできるようになるという解放です。正解を出す力ではなく、「AIが出した正解を現場で試し、失敗し、それでも自分なりの意味を見出してやり抜く力」こそが、これからの学びの核となります。
Currently, there is an unprecedented boom in "inquiry-based learning" in schools across Japan. However, as I observe students in the field, I am convinced of one thing: "The current form of inquiry-based learning will inevitably come to an 'end' in the not-too-distant future."
This is not pessimism. The evolution of technology will fundamentally overturn the value of what we have called "inquiry," forcing a mandatory update to a completely new "next-generation of learning."
1. The Day "Inquiry as Information Processing" Dies
The biggest reason current inquiry-based learning will end is the overwhelming evolution of Generative AI.
Much of today's inquiry involves "researching social issues, analyzing causes, and summarizing solutions on slides." However, AI can now perfectly execute this process of "gathering and processing information" in mere seconds. The era of competing in "information processing skills" in the classroom is over.
2. Next-Gen Learning ①: A Return to "Friction" and "Physicality"
Because AI can instantly provide correct answers in the digital space, the value of human learning will shift to an overwhelming return to physicality.
"Real-world Friction" is Human Value:
Going to the field, interacting messily with people, actually making things, and experiencing the pain of unexpected failures. Schools will transform into safe laboratories for experiencing these errors, which AI cannot do.
3. Next-Gen Learning ②: From "HOW" to "WHY"
The center of gravity in learning will shift from "Problem Solving" to "Sense-making." Personal emotions, passion, and ethics—the "personal WHY"—cannot be generated by AI. Next-generation inquiry will evolve into self-reflection, unearthing personal questions that one is willing to risk their life for.
Conclusion: The True "Beginning" of Learning
The end of current inquiry is a liberation, allowing humans to focus 100% on their "passion" as AI takes over tedious research. What children need is not the ability to produce correct answers, but the grit to test AI's answers in the field, fail, and still find their own meaning.
